2 long TD's given up by Raiders defense. 63 Yard TD,49 Yard TD pass. that's the difference.

Mayfield outplaying Carr, pretty embarrassing. David Carr is alive and well. Mayfield exuding confidence and leadership, Carr exuding fear and inability to make the plays when needed. Carr is done, he needs to be traded, not kidding. If I was Gruden, I would sit his ass and let him cry in his mickey mouse pillow for a while. Ridiculous.

The Hitman.

First time the Raiders have scored more than 20 points since Dec 3rd last season against the Giants.
JUST WIN, BABY!

3rd time that Gruden has called for a fancy play on 3rd and short, and has missed it. Give it to Lynch, first down is better than a field goal there. Quit being fancy and JUST WIN, BABY

Thank goodness. Finally, not pretty but Carr came through in the end and Lynch was the MVP of the game.

Most importantly, I was seriously worried about having to face NY's post this week---lol.

At least for one week we can be happy.

Enjoy

An ugly W, but a W nonetheless. This team looked bi-polar. Looked like they could dominate the game in the 4th Quarter, with defense fighting to get momentum shift, only to lose it on a big 41 yard TD run. Carr came back and fought hard to tie the game and send it in to overtime after giving up some ugly interceptions, and making terrible reads. After missing 2 field goals, the new kicker nailed the third for the win (bring back Tavecchio).
Gruden 1-4 when not using Lynch on short yardage (Derek Carr sneak worked). 0-3 when he tries to get fancy. Defense needs to play better, hopefully this will kickstart the offense. First time Raiders scored more than 30 since beating the Chiefs 31-30, and the first time RB ran for more than 100 since Lynch did it against the Jets last season. JUST WON, BABY!

That's my post that got deleted. I friggin' left the bar after the Browns got possession and a first down. Thought it was over!!

I am floored the Raiders won. I am signing in to game pass to watch the end of the game!

NY, hope you didn't turn the game off brother. If so, you missed an amazing win by the Raiders. Carr on the game-tying drive looked like Carr of 2016, staying in the pocket and taking big hits for big plays. Cooper and Jordy stepped up when they needed to, setting up Cook open in the end zone; then Jordy for the 2 point to tie.
Awesome drive at the end of the game, awesome drive to win the game. We need a kicker though, bring back Tavecchio.

Finally, some players took the bull by the horn and said NOT THIS DAY.

M.Lee played a really strong game, could be the starter for years to come if he keeps going. M. Hurst looks to be a real steal and Key is coming along. Worley comes in now after suspension and will solidify the CB's. Carr finally showed some fire in his eyes, 1st time I have seen it this year. He is a really good qb when he wants it, maybe he was triggered today?Big win for the team, too many big plays given up.

Yep! Left before the game ended. Looked like the Browns got the fatal first down with 1:34 left. Was out the door before I knew the play was being reviewed.

Admittedly, my deleted post above was out of frustration, thinking that we'd lost. Just watched the ending and OT on Game Pass and see the Raiders may have turned a corner and learned how to finish a game, again.

Plenty of ugly moments to reflect upon, but I think I'll let this one sink in for a while.

Ironically, my initial instinct was to trash Melvin for playing too soft, and Nelson for never being near the play. Both these guys made huge plays to finish the game.

And there were times when Baker Mayfield looked far better than Carr but Carr's the guy that won the game... 14th career comeback win for Carr!

Nice!!

NY

I read your post before it was deleted. I thought we were going to have to do an intervention on you----lol.

How about giving that shout out to Beast Mode, I have been asking you to do for that last 12 months. It was not just his amazing play not sure if you saw it or read about he gave a huge pep talk to the o-line mid game. I guess he is a good influence.

Enjoy

Sandy, I have Lynch on my FFB team. I'm a fan. I don't like it when the Raiders pass him the ball on design plays (Richard is a better option out of the backfield), but I cringe when Doug Martin gets the call instead of Lynch.

Another concern is that Lynch doesn't have a lot of self-control. Should have cost the Raiders a 15-yard flag when he kicked the football after the refs blew the whistle on a play that Lynch looked stopped but then pulled away from two defenders. Frankly, I don't think the refs had the balls to flag Lynch because they knew they blew the whistle too early.

Clearly, the Beast Mode nickname is well-deserved.

Khalil Mack Tracker: Week Four.

Another strip sack this week. That's four strip sacks in four games. But who's counting?

NY, Apparently you are counting--lol and based on interviews Gruden as well. Looking forward to using one or two of those firsts on DL, hopefully Boas or Ferrell will be available, sorry Nate---Oliver is going number 1 overall

What do you guys think of the rookies yesterday.

Hurst - looks good so far
Key - still a fair bit to go, seemed to have burst but could not get off the block and finish
PJ Hall - Did not play enough to judge
Parker- Solid for a first start
Miller - had problems but he was going against a top 5 end. Need better strength in the run game

With Worley back this week hopefully they move Rogers-Cromartie to FS ad bench Nelson

Regards
Sandy

Miller held his own against Myles, he gave up a few pressures, but he adjusted his hips and took Myles to school the rest of the day. Most of the QB pressures are coming from the right side and the guard positions. After Osemele went out with an injury and Feliciano came in, no pressure up the gut for Feliciano.
PJ Hall is coming off an injury so they won't play him much especially with Hankins and Hurst playing well. Key, Irvin, and Carradine have to play better off the edge and cut the outside runs. Key has been out of position on those outside runs (41 and 63 yard TDs). Key can disrupt the pass, but needs to focus on his assignments and gaps on the running game. Hurst still struggles with double team, but is getting less with Hankins on the line. We have to get better play from our DE's though. Irvin is clearly frustrated, and the other team is using it against him. Carradine and Key have to step up. I would like to see more of Shilique Calhoun instead of Frostee Rucker (who is non-existent).

Nice to win an old time AFL shootout type game.

Some dude on NFL network crying how Browns got ripped off on two bad calls.

Made me laugh. Raiders get robbed for decades with bad calls most every game. Guess commentator doesn't know his football history.

Lets go for two in a row!!!!

Mack was named NFC defensive player of the month. His stat line after 4 weeks is impressive, to say the least... best in the NFL. The Raiders can't match these stats as a team.

17 tackles
5 sacks
3 tackles for loss
4 quarterback hits
1 interception
2 passed defended
4 forced fumbles
1 fumble recovery
24 QB pressures (per PFF)

Also, Mack has a TD to his credit (on a pick-six).

You can say just let it go but these numbers tell the story, and it's nothing we didn't already know about Mack.

Blast from the past. David Carr tells the story of how "Lance" Kiffin started his coaching career. Just thinking about AL calling Kiffin "Lance" is insanely funny, and extremely sad at the same time. It marks a really dark era for the Raiders from which we still haven't fully recovered.

NY,
Kiffin denied that he showed up in board shorts, flip flops, and a leg brace. I hope David Carr calls for an FBI investigation to show this liar the truth. Hahaha.

Truth be told, I'm not really sure Gruden knew the kind of player Mack really was. How can you watch film on the guy consistently breaking triple teams, and not be impressed? He is eating his sour grapes watching Mack play for the Bears. Mike Silver reported that Gruden was visibly upset and cursing watching Mack get another strip sack Sunday. Rightfully so. I believe he now knows that he is an idiot for trading him.

Good news though, Mack has a little brother, LeDarius, currently playing for Buffalo University where Khalil went. He is a Junior who transferred there last year, but red-shirted. So there may be a chance that the Raiders draft him just to try and save face. He looks alot like his brother. Here is a link on a story about him with a video:

Little Mack is smaller and inexperienced but having that last name should be enough to get you drafted by an NFL team.

I like the caption, "can lightning strike twice in Buffalo."

Raiders strength of schedule was 3rd easiest in the league this year (based on last year's team records).

Why is it that the Raiders are NEVER ready to make a run in seasons which strength of schedule is easy, yet they sometimes have chops but can never follow thru in seasons which strength of schedule is hard? Basically, we always under-perform.

Back to the easy 2018 schedule... I disagree wholeheartedly with anyone who thinks the Raiders could not have made a playoff run this season with Mack on the team.

Raiders have no pass rush! That's the Achilles heel of this defense right now and it was in our back pocket... until it wasn't.

Raiders are dead last in the NFL in sacks with 5. Mack has 5. In theory, that makes 10 and places the Raiders in the middle of the pack. But Mack's presence on the Bears took a bad pass-rushing team and made them #1 in the NFL with 18 sacks in 4 games. That's real pressure.

Also, Mack has 5 forced fumbles. Raiders have 3 FF as a team. Again, in theory, that's 8 FF's, and would place the Raiders #1 in the NFL.

Right now, Mack is about half the Bears defense. If you don't think that would have been meaningful for the Raiders, you are wrong.

Enjoy your weekend!
GO RAIDERS!!
