Browns Gameday Thread

The Raiders came back down to earth last week, and the defense reverted to form with a resounding thud. Now they're in windy Cleveland, with one Raiders field goal try already thwarted. The Raiders should win this if they are a team on the rise. They gotta pull it together, and now's a chance to avoid a losing record at the halfway mark of the season. GO RAIDERS!

Derek Carr continues to fight hard to exercise his demons; this time, the weather jinx. But he couldn't have done it without defense. Yet, despite this low-scoring game, Carr's focus and determination has reached a new level this year.

The defense really stepped up, although, the Browns had several drops. Looks like the cold weather may have gotten to the Browns more than the Raiders.

A TV shot of Ruggs on the sideline after the TD attempt seemed to confirm he possibly could have dragged his second foot. Still a tough play to make.

Great game against a worthy opponent.

Craziness: Raiders can't keep Trent Brown on the field no matter what they do. How many games has Brown actually played since signing his record-breaking contract? Nobody's fault, just a crazy run of bad luck. Sucks, because Brown is 10x better than the next guy up. Young got steamrolled a few times, and Parker didn't appear to do any better.

Are we gonna call Raiders a playoff team now? Haven't we been here before? When they lose its' "fire that guy" - "trade for him!"....but when we win its'- "The playoffs are coming!" Raidernation! stop it! we need to tell them to make changes if they are going to go to the playoffs!

1. sign Tyre Coleman, UDFA DE, Hobart William Smith Colleges- 51 career sacks, 224 tackles, 94.5 career tfl and 13 career forced fumbles.

2. Gruden should call SOME of the offensive plays.

3. Rod Marinelli should call SOME of the D plays. Hire a new D-line coach.

4. use the ALL the tight ends! They need to use Jason Witten and others and maybe it would light up the offense.

His mishap this last weekend was no good. He received an IV that pumped air in his veins which would cause lesser men to die (it is called an air embolism). We don't know if why he needed an IV. Profootballtalk.com reported that he should be coming home yesterday.

Now, with that said, my aunt and grandma have COVID. My grandma is not doing well. My aunt is fatigued all the time, and gets dehydrated real easy. I am thinking this is the reason why Trent needed an IV; because he gets dehydrated easily; but again, purely speculation on my part.

With that said, Trent has only played in 11 games since last season, including 2 this season, which includes the first game he played where he had his "calf-injury." Gruden has openly questioned his desire to play football, which is never good. But he came out and said he fully expected Trent to play this past Sunday, but this air embolism changed that. It was an unfortunate event for Trent that was out of his control. Gruden is not sure if he will play this weekend. I think he should be allowed to gain full strength. If he is still having adverse effects of COVID (like dehydration), we shouldn't play him.

Anon, I am open for the Raiders to look at anyone they can for defense. I will definitely find more video of him and see how he plays. Does he stand too tall/too flat?
The last link you sent showed a video of his 40th and 41st career sack, and it looks like he has some real good push; but doesn't keep low (which would be a problem in the NFL). Just initial observation.

As well, I think if we get a new DC it should be Wade Phillips. Marinelli is a good D-Line coach, but I think our D-line played better last season under Buckner. I also think our D-Line plays better with Kendal Vickers and Daniel Ross at DT, but Ross is on the IR list now that Hurst, Collins, and Hankins are back as well. The line seems more sluggish with Hankins and Collins. Hankins is at least a stout run blocker, but he has no push on the passing game. Put him in there as an anchor, and let Vickers do his think over Collins and Hurst at this point.

Derek Carr is having a MVP like season, but I think Russell Wilson should win the MVP this year. He is the only QB out playing Carr. Think about that for a minute. As good as Carr has been playing this season, and he has been playing lights out; Wilson has played better. IF the Raiders make the playoffs, it will be because of DC.

Next up are the Chargers (Dunderdolts), Doncos, and Chiefs; which are technically 3 home games because we play the Dunderdolts in LA. Need to win these games to make that playoff push. JUST WIN, BABY!!

That's a good point, Nate. Buckner was an outstanding D-line coach, and the Raiders knew that when they replaced him with Marinelli. Marinelli has not provided the boost we thought it might. I don't think there's any question, the D-line is worse under Marinelli.

Best wishes to your family members for their speedy recovery! Let's all beat this thing and get back to football!!

Thanks NY for the best wishes. We are really concerned about my grandma. We are not sure she is getting the proper treatment at the facility she is in, but we have no way of having one-on-one private contact with her. The nurses use their personal cells on speaker phone and tell her how to answer our questions. She is struggling real bad, and don't think (at this point) her health will improve.
My aunt went home today, feeling better. The one thing I've learned from both my grandma and aunt, is not only do they both have trouble breathing; but are easily dehydrated. It doesn't take much for them to be dehydrated, they constantly have to be drinking something or on an IV. This may be the symptoms that Trent Brown is facing.

Zinc helps against viruses, colds and things like them; A doctor claimed it may help or maybe stop Coronavirus. He said Zinc goes into the body and tries to get the virus out of the body.

A Humidifier may help keep the virus from getting powerful to make other diseases make people sick (colds, flu) and keep the disease under control in the home. You need a good one, something that may cost a little $25-$100 dollars but it will help keep the virus from growing and making people in the home get infected or get the actual disease.

vitamin c product might help her.

you can ask the county to check on her.

she needs to say hydrated. Water if she can drink it or something doctors see as safe or juice if it is safe to do it.

If she can drink water if it is something doctors say is o.k. but if not maybe they have a health drink for patients if it is not too sweet or full of things for medicating but not made for hydrating their patients and other people then they need to see if she can drink juice.

Anon,
Thanks for the heads up about Zinc. I was also telling them to get her some Colliod Silver drops as that fights infections as well.
She is being hydrated with an IV, not water. She has pneumonia and blood clots in her lungs. She was transported back to the hospital last night; where I think she is getting better care there than the rehab she was at. Quite concerning when asking questions, the nurse at the rehab was telling her how to answer. While at the hospital, my aunt and uncle are able to visit and make sure she is getting the care she needs. She is 86/87 years old, with a lot of other health issues that makes possible recovery difficult; but not impossible. So we continue to wait and see. Thanks everyone for the kind words and prayers.

Division game coming off a huge win in Cleveland. Raiders need to stay focused and keep pace with other playoff contenders in the AFC.

Scary drop in talent at the tackle positions if both Miller and Brown are out.
