Go Reggie Go!

Well, Reggie McKenzie has wasted no time getting down to business.

With Peyton Manning joining the Broncos, our need for a tougher, smarter defense just intensified.

The good news is that since we were told that the Broncos defense, and not Tim Tebow, was winning Denver's games last year, we now have the DC behind that defense heading up our team.

Continue the discussion here...with a bit more civility, please.

McKenzie appears to be doing a tremendous job, despite the added pressures of having to "fill holes on an organizational level."

Raiders simply don't have the same access this year as other teams do to free agency and the draft.

McKenzie has already demonstrated his ability to work around these issues while showing us his talents with the salary cap, and he continues to smartly address personnel needs.

Do you see Bartel/Spencer as a better CB tandem than Routt/Johnson?

Steve Corkran:
Routt better than both. Bartell and Spencer both better than Chris Johnson.
>>>>

Routt is better than both?

Yuck.

And Lito was better than CJ last season... just sayin.

He also said Barlett's snapped neck is a "huge question mark" and that the reason Chaz parted ways was both him and us needed a change.

(Both my questions which is always fun.)

Correction "Bartell" above.

O da horor...'Corkran' says Routt was better, it must be true?

Routt is a one trick pony, he will have a huge adjustment to playing in a regular defensive scheme, much like Nnamdi is having.

A broken vertebrae is not a "snapped neck"...if the Doc's have cleared him, he will be good to go...having Bartell and hopefully Porter at the corners is much better than Routt and Johnson AND a hell of a lot cheaper. Let's face it, if Mr.Davis was making these moves, you and your ilk would be saying " he's knocking it out of the park".

How bout we wait and see after a few PRACTISES? Before you guys claim VICTORY for all your posing that you are doing right now. You guys really get off on trying to yanks chains/humping legs?

As usual, the 'crew' is doing it's smack talking during the offseason when it's all just mental masterbation (what a surprise). Nothing will be settled until the games begin, until then it's all speculation, other than the fact that the Org is being run better.

That's not a fair comparison. Jones beat me to the puch, but the Raiders will be playing more zone and less M-T-M, and bringing more pressure on the QB. The days of needing elite CBs to blanket-cover WRs on every down are over.

Plus, who knows if either CB signed even makes the team. Reggie is working it.

We should be happy to be getting an opportunity to see new talent work in a different system.

No. Porter being signed is "knocking it out of the park."

Bartell without the snapped neck is close.

With a snapped neck, this is simply a cross your fingers and hope for the best. Cornerbacks cannot be "gun shy" I don't care what anyone sez.

Spencer is nothing more than depth.

And I don't care if its zone or M2M... we still have a lot of work to do in the secondary. I am not going to pretend otherwise regardless of who is doing the hiring now.

Guys, guys, s t o p... these are all professional football players, their talent is just a few degrees apart. What has been the proven factor is heart and four quarters of no stupidity. If you doubt that, rewind the Denver tapes. They were not better than us, they just more unified and better led. What's true in life is true on the gridiron. Statistics are ridiculous, and misleading as predictors. Go Oak!

Hey, can't worry about what other teams are doing.

Chefs have Routt, & Boss. I am not losing sleep.

Donks, have 36 yr. old Payton Manning.

Gary, would you say Manning has a "Snapped neck" ?

Meanwhile, Raiders are busy getting their own house in order.

Ridding team of bloated contracts, and lazy players.

No pain, no gain. The payoff will come soon enough.

6:08 PM
Blogger Calico Jack said...

Agree, Raider 00.

For all we know, (1) we might add another CB (2) Bartell or Spencer might get cut (3) 2nd year CB DeMarcus Van Dyke (DVD) might earn a starting role.

One of the more interesting things to follow will be how the DBs are deployed. Instead of relying on over-priced M2M CBs, we will be playing more zone with less $ spent on the position group.

Last season we had the 31st ranked pass D in TDs allowed (31 pass TDs).

The results are what will really count. There is PLENTY of room for improvement on the defensive side of the ball.

This transition is clearly a work in progress with a lot more work to do.

It isn't until we put together an 80 man roster, go through camps, pre-season, and final cuts that we will have a better feel for how the 2012 Raiders team is shaping up.

At this early stage of the offseason, I like how McKenzie is conducting business.

Not sure how he injured it, but ok... SURE!

The difference is a QB is paid to AVOID all contact, and has the league officials help in doing so.

CB's are paid to do a lot of high impact tackling and hitting.

Why should this have to be explained?

Two thoughts here:

1. Are you sure Allen is even much of a zone defense guy? I can find out pretty quickly from a Donc fan on Facebook.

2. Much of our back seven will be still playing next year, and were absolutely HORRIBLE at zone defense every time we tried it. Its one of the reasons we were last in the NFL in giving up TDs... not to mention the agonizing losses to Det and SD.

I might agree that maybe this was because Bresh was a complete moron... but I am not looking at this as much of a positive unless we bring a herd of different players in.

Not to mention they will be benched or cut pretty quickly if they are gun-shy or hesitant at all to do it.

Manning can be hesitant to take a hit all he wants... what difference does it make? maybe a few more tosses out of bounds is all.

I heard an interesting interview last night with the Chiefs GM that hired Montana... Peterson? He said the best part of it was that the o-line treated Montana as a china doll and no defensive player got to him. Nobody wanted to be responsible for allowing the sack that ended a legends career.

I assume the same will also happen with the Bronco's. Another reason this was such a great pick up for them...

7:22 PM

Gary,

From what I've read and based on the Broncos D last year, our defensive coverage will be a mix of both zone and M2M.

The BIG difference will be that zone principles will be incorporated as a regular staple in practices, camp, pre-season all the way leading up to the regular season.

Zone was an after-thought previously so no one should be surprised that we got killed the few times we used it which was primarily in the red zone.

As far as our defensive personnel, we are looking at perhaps as many as 3 new starters in the back 7 and 4 total in the entire unit if you include Shaunnessey.

Houston
Kelly
Seymour
Shaunnessey
Curry
McClain
Goethel or FA or draftee
Bartell
Spencer
Huff
Branch

The other BIG difference should be our defense and defensive coaching being more modern, multiple, and aggressive.

We shall see.

Agreed. It won't take much. The key actually might be Shawnasty.

8:40 PM
Blogger Calico Jack said...

Getting Shaunnessey back will be huge. He is equally as stout against the run as vs. being an adept pass rusher.

He has a good blend of size, speed, strength, and aggressiveness to make the entire front 4 better. If the opponent is double-teaming Seymour, Shaunnessey will be able to create havoc.

Using McClain in better situations to fit his skill set and make plays near the line of scrimmage should also make a positive impact.

Seeing Huff and Branch cut loose more often and in a less predictable manner bodes well for the D to be difference makers.

I guess I look at the situation optimistically as our D will finally be put in better situations to make game aggressive, game altering plays.

Onwards and upwards!

I want to hear what the players will be saying when traing camp is a few weeks old. It will be interesting to hear their comments on the changes made.

I will also want to see what is happening on Draft day. Mr.Davis ran the draft for decades and had a very rigid way of doing Draft day. Wonder if Reggie will be wheeling and dealing? Seems he isn't shy about making moves and doing whatever it takes to improve the team inside a designed plan.

I'm thinking that Reggie won't be shy on Draft day. After all these years of having the Org run in a certain fashion (never trade down, speed over football IQ) and now it will be so different, hasn't really sunk in yet. I think it is pretty cool.

Thanks but no thanks

As positive a presence as Tim Tebow is, our experts would take a pass rather than trade to get him

But this is just amazing to me and I don't freakin believe it!!!

"Could I play a game this Sunday? Yeah, I could," he said, when asked if he'd be able to get on the field immediately. "I don't know if I could play as well as I would like, but yeah, I could go out there."

Manning did allow that he isn't quite ready to play up to his own high standards.

"I have a lot of work to do in getting to where I want to be from a health standpoint....."This is going to take a ton of work."

He added that while it is too early for him to be 100 percent -- "It is March," he said; "I have a hard time reminding myself of that," -

Really appreciate Payton's honesty here but Elway your a freakin IDIOT!!!

For his part, Broncos executive vice president of football operations John Elway said the team's medical staff "feel(s) great" about the quarterback's health, according to the Denver Post. "I don't consider it much of a risk," he said.

What???...

Manning, who is attempting to come back after multiple neck surgeries forced him to miss the 2011 season,

"I don't consider it much of a risk," ????

Damn!!...Now I know Elway want's the hell away from Tibow but that's just insane!!!

For the record I hope Timmy leaves back to Florida and develops that Arm that he lacks and comes back to kick some "Donkey" ASS!!!

7. No backup plan

"Plan B? I don't have a Plan B. We're going with Plan A," Elway said.

Bill Polian, Curtis Painter, and every Colts fan would like to point out that Plan B's matter.

8. Tebow will not be the Plan B

"It's our goal to get (Tebow) in the best situation possible," Elway said.

Translation: Tebow is as good as gone. Elway said Tebow is the Bronco he'd most like his daughter to marry, but the reality is that the team doesn't have much use for him as a quarterback.

To reiterate the question:

Question In Reality...

On Paper As It Now Stands...Who's Odds On Favorite To Take The AFCW???

Would Love To Say The Raiders But Too Damn Many Questions???

“KC” has several weapons on “O” but lacking at the key position…NO “QB” worth a damn…But they play tough and know how to play “D” and have been together under the same system for a few years…

That Damn “Donkey” lacks weapons on “O” and have to question that “OL” that couldn’t save a Tebow with legs?…."RB"s are so so…"WR"s are substandard…NO “TE”…But they may have some $$$$ to spend and pick to use..But is it enough?

“SD” has been in the same system forever and still have Rivers…On paper their roster looks improved…Turnerites has been an infliction and he was almost out the door so prolley starts on the “Hot Seat”??…Rivers showed some weaknesses but closed out strong…Inconsistency seems to have overtaken that team but if the season started today I would have to pick them to be favorites…

My Raiders are starting over with almost an entirely new coaching staff/system and perhaps philosophy so who knows what’s going to be OakTown?..The roster has been stripped and now a few gaping holes have been plugged but so much more needs to be done without the picks or $$$$ to do it…But this could be the surprise of our lifetimes?

Palmer and a very good core remains on the “O” and the “OL” may yet gel in their return to the “ZBS”…The “D” can’t possibly be any worse and should be improved…How much is a huge question????….

Taken care of? Really? I'd say Al Davis has already done that. Besides, taking care of players in the manner you suggest is exactly what the Raiders are smartly trying to get away from.

First off, Wimbley's new deal is slightly more in line with his worth, and proves Davis overpaid him by $4M per year.

Second, wimbley didn't actually take a pay cut. The Raiders still owe him a boat load of guaranteed money... like $6.5M. It was well-publicized that Wimbley would be smart to leave the Raiders and collect both salaries.

In case you did't read, Wimbley's new contract is front loaded... he stands to make over $17M this year thanks to the Raiders.

How was Al Davis supposed to trump that?

Over the course of one full season, Wimbley went from making a six figure salary to becoming one of the richest men in pro football... and PR thinks Al Davis would have taken care of him.

Clearly, Wimbley has taken care of himself!

Most pundits will now anoint Denver as the winner next season. All I can say is with Palmer and Manning now in the West, quarterback play just got significantly better.

Gary,

I won't be surprised if we bring in more, relatively anonymous players.

If you think about it, this is a big part of what Reggie has been hired to do which is to identify hidden gems at low cost.

The "best" 80 man roster will uncover some real football players who might have been on another team's bench, been undrafted, bounced on a few waiver wires etc.

Sure we all prefer the proven, big name players but with our budget, we are not in the position to go after tier 1 free agents.

It will be a process of taking the best possible 80 men and whittling it down by competition to 53 who (a) fit our systems (b) give us the best chance to win.

The recent signing, CB Pat Lee, was in Green Bay the past 3 years. I'm sure none of us have heard of the guy before. However, I think it is very safe to say that Reggie knows the guy very well and sees potential worth, depth, competition, special teams, development, etc.

PR,

You are a complete idiot, fool, and imbecile.

All the players signed are ultimately Reggie's responsibility.

It doesn't matter if members of the coaching staff once worked with newly signed players previously.

What does matter is that the team works in unison to find the best possible players.

In the NFL, like the business world, past relationships, contacts, referrals, and recommendations is how business is conducted. Are you that clueless?

If Dennis Allen says "Hey Reggie, take a look at Player X. He is a player that I respect and would fit into our team's needs" does it really matter? Of course not. What matters is the TEAM's success.

One of the great things about Al Davis was his knowledge, contacts, and relationships throughout the NFL. He used this network of contacts with a watchful eye towards improving the team's talent. Some of these contacts were Raider coaches, former Raider coaches, players, former players, scouts, other team's GMs, etc.

I find it amusing and quite frankly sad that you want to discredit Reggie McKenzie, OUR new GM, for basically doing his job. If Reggie wasn't taking recommendations from his circle of contacts, subordinates, and network of NFL folks, then I would be worried.

Get a clue PR. You are a complete football novice and a fraud.

The Oakland Raiders have expressed interest in free-agent DE Dave Tollefson (Giants).

"We are all accountable and responsible for player health and safety and the integrity of the game," Commissioner Goodell said. "We will not tolerate conduct or a culture that undermines those priorities. No one is above the game or the rules that govern it. Respect for the game and the people who participate in it will not be compromised."

"A combination of elements made this matter particularly unusual and egregious," Commissioner Goodell continued. "When there is targeting of players for injury and cash rewards over a three-year period, the involvement of the coaching staff, and three years of denials and willful disrespect of the rules, a strong and lasting message must be sent that such conduct is totally unacceptable and has no place in the game."

Discipline for individual players involved in the Saints' prohibited program continues to be under review with the NFL Players Association and will be addressed by Commissioner Goodell at a later date.

For the record the NFLPA has already specified that if one player is to receive a penalty than every coach who has been involved also must serve a penalty and demands further investigation into those Assistant Coaches...

The "NO" Assistant Coaches present and past now await any further development!!!

By your sheer volume of ignorant posts you've proven yourself to be a fraud and a complete loser.

Does any real Raider fan give a shit if a player who is signed worked with a member of our coaching staff previously? No.

What any real Raider fan cares about is a FUNCTIONAL, RESULTS ORIENTED organization that is doing everything in it's power to improve the product on the field.

You are so obsessed with Al Davis and discrediting the new era of McKenzie and Allen that you've shown your true colors.

Everyone can see you are not a Raider fan. It is so sad and pathetic that you've lost sight of the reason that all of us visit Raider Take ... to share our thoughts, hopes, and discuss Raider football.

Instead you are a lost soul who not only has ZERO clue about football, but is nothing more than an internet troll.

Face it PR, you are not a Raider fan but an Al Davis fan. You don't want the Raiders to succeed. Your only real goal in life is to troll this site, create confrontation, and try to puff up your shallow existence.

BountyGate: "NO"

The player suspensions and/or fines have yet to be handed down and it may be the reason none of their free agents have been signed by interested teams. The Raiders have shown interest in CB Tracy Porter and could also show interest in NT Aubrayo Franklin.

As already reported:

The Players Association has said that if a single player is to be penalized than every assistant coach who worked under Williams also needs to be scrutinized and receive equal punishment…

This may be the reason that the players have yet to be punished???…The union demands an in depth investigation into each assistant coach which would take more time to resolve and said they want their own investigators involved…

Perhaps not out of the woods yet???

#Redskins have expressed interest in Texans OG Mike Brisiel, who started 13 games last season.

Brisiel was allowed to hit the open market by the Texans, who were struggling staying under the cap. Brisiel is 29 years-old who could have a good three to five years left in the tank. He has a familiarity with the zone-blocking scheme and worked under Kyle Shanahan when he was the offensive coordinator. However, he has had some injury troubles in the past, only able to start 13 games last year.

Our Shiny New "GM" Speaks:

Now the Great Reggie!!!

McKenzie said the Raiders' highest priority right now is finding an outside linebacker. Saying "I need to find a starting outside linebacker. Other than that we could field a team and compete right now." While that would suggest a signing in free agency, he didn't rule out being able to find a starter either in the draft or as an undrafted free agent.

He also said the lower priorities are finding a backup quarterback and backup running back. I would expect the backup quarterback position to be filled late in free agency and the running back position to be addressed in the draft and afterward.

Mckenzie went on to say that the Raiders would have liked to re-sign both Kamerion Wimbley as well as Michael Bush but that he knew there would be no chance to keep either, primarily for salary reasons. He said the team currently has about $4 million left under the cap but could easily make more room if necessary by restructuring some contracts or by signing Tyvon Branch to a long term deal.

Reggie interview with J-Mac is cool. He said he has less than $4M in cap space right now (hoping to sign Branch to a L-T deal and free up more $), and he sounded like it will be no problem to sign a plug'n play RB to backup McF. Wiz at center and Carlisle at LG. He also plans to sign a vet QB.

No surprises; just the continuation of a well-designed plan to work within the framework of what he's been given.

IMO, it will be several seasons before McKenzie is truly working entirely within his own system.

For now, he appears to be doing a great job with what he has to work with.

The "Potential" is there to be as good as last season with the additional adjustments like this:

"McKenzie said the Raiders' highest priority right now is finding an outside linebacker. Saying "I need to find a starting outside linebacker."

Reggie than adds:

"Other than that we could field a team and compete right now."

Translation:

That "OLB" is a hole NOT yet filled but other than that we could field a complete team...Any depth Reggie....NO!!!...Is it a championship team Reggie??....NO!!!...He never said that now did he...

SO: In theory after Reggie finishes this task we could "Potentially" be as good as last season....NOT improved...NOT a "Championship Team"!!!...Fuckin 8-n-8!!!

And by the way:

"Mckenzie went on to say that the Raiders would have liked to re-sign both Kamerion Wimbley as well as Michael Bush"

Those were 2 costly losses regardless of how much you try to play it down and to date we have NOT added a single body that's either equal to nor better than what we have lost!!!

Do the 3 new "CB"s even measure up to equal to the loss of:

Routt/"CJ"/Sheppard...

Than add in the "S"s for a full view of our Defensive Backfield:

Eugene/Giordano

And what "OLB" acquisition is going to offset the loss of:

Wimbeley/Groves

None of which even addresses the loss of:

Henderson/Moss/Scott on the "DL"

Boss @ "TE"

Chaz @ "WR"

Satele/Heher @ "C"/"T"

They also placed restricted free agent tenders on four others-- DL Desmond Bryant, NT Travis Ivey, CB/KR Bryan McCann, and FB Marcel Reece.

Here is the overall list of free agents signed away from the Raiders so far:

QB Jason Campbell Chicago Bears

RB Michael Bush Chicago Bears

WR Chaz Schilens New York Jets

RB Rock Cartwright San Francisco 49ers

LB Darryl Blackstock UFA

LB Ricky Brown UFA

LB Quentin Groves UFA

CB Lito Sheppard UFA

SS Jerome Boyd ERFA (not tendered)

Wow, Jethro can count (when someone else counts for it). And why is it so many players have left and the Raiders are barely under the cap? Oh that's right, it is because of the last 'capologist' spent like a teenage girl who just got a credit card from her rich daddy.

But good ole donkey fan pretends that the cap situation in Oakland was just the same as all the other teams....hey jethro, go f yourself, cause no one else will.

As Reggie states in his interview, he is right now within $4M of the salary cap. So all the free agents he let go were out of pure necessity due to the "wacked contracts" he inherited. Does that make him a failure? No. He's doing his job as well as anybody could expect, probably better.

PR, you have trouble separating fantasy and reality. Your notion the Raiders have taken 10 steps backwards is a complete and utter joke. There were never 10 steps to take. The Raiders have been fluttering in a state of dysfunction for 10+ years. Many holes to fill... and Reggie is getting it done.

No. I would say it's yours. You have bashed Reggie McKenzie, Dennis Allen and the Raiders almost relentlessly the last few weeks.

My takes are consistent and measured by comparison.

Conversely, I applaud McKenzie for all he's done to help the Raiders get through this transition. It may seem small to you, but it's really quite remarkable given, again, what he had to work with.

The list of FAs that have left the Raiders and others signed by McKenzie has made perfect and absolute sense, save perhaps letting Schilens walk for so little money.

That's right, Topher...the core is still there, the very same core that the complainers say was so close to being a possible SB contender.

There have been signings to address those losses and there still could be more on the way...but o da horor crowd cries because Denver is winning the signing parade and Reggie isn't doing enough...the guy had to restructure a Front Office, get a completely new coaching staff and restructure 10 or so contracts to get under the cap and decide who would no longer be wanted and released.

Throw in he is now working on the draft and possible signings, all this in less than a couple months....this guy is doing a very good job.

Raiders will win the West and will put Manning down and out. If some are complaining, they aren't for what is best for the TEAM.

Roll up his sleeves and get to work

(1) restructuring the organization and how it operates

(2) transitioning into the new era with a new owner, head coach, coaching staff, and staff

(3) getting our payroll in order and shedding the out of whack contracts

(4) retooling the roster to fit the cap constraints and needs of the TEAM

(5) getting us on track and stabilized

Still plenty of work and revamping in the near future. Go Reggie Go!

I applaud your methodical, on plan efforts to date and look forward to more positive steps over the course of the next few months.

A very balanced, objective view of the job Reggie is doing by Vic over at Raiderfans.net;

"Reggie McKenzie knew exactly what he was inheriting when he took the position of general manger for the Oakland Raiders.

Yes, a roster full of talent and a youthful foundation in many spots, but a team who was facing tough decisions and no cap space heading into the off-season. Oakland was $20 million over the cap and had no wiggle room with many key players primed to shop their services around the league.

McKenzie acknowledged that during Dennis Allen’s introductory press conference, stating, “From where we are, we’ve got some contracts that are kind of out of whack.” He continued, “But in my discussions and viewing the cap situation, we should be fine.”

So far… so good.

Oakland jettisoned Stanford Routt’s mega-deal, re-structured Richard Seymour’s big cap number, worked with Carson Palmer to alleviate the financial burden and Michael Huff stepped up to help the team by re-working his deal.

But that still left the status of key players like Kamerion Wimbley, Tyvon Branch and Michael Bush up in the air.

Eventually, Branch was franchised, Wimbley was cut and Bush was a luxury they couldn’t bring back. But that has not stopped McKenzie from acquiring solid veteran talent to keep this team competitive and afloat during the NFL’s shopping period.

Cornerback – an area of great need that was a downfall for the 2011 Raiders – has been addressed with some under-the-radar moves. Ron Bartell, coming off a season on injured reserve, but with a solid background as a starter prior to that, is in the mix. Shawntae Spencer, another talent who was limited last year, but with a history as a contributor in San Francisco, will compete for a starting spot with the Silver & Black.

Neither name is glitzy, nor will they likely propel the Raiders atop the defensive standings, but are solid moves considering the monetary investment and the fact that both have incentive to play well under one-year deals if they want to see a nice payday in 2012.
Mike Brisiel will upgrade the right guard spot and help the Raiders stay steady in the trenches. That will be imperative without the depth at running back they’ve had in recent years and the fact that Carson Palmer is 32 and will need ample time to get the ball to his targets.

Certain positions still need a lot of attention; Oakland has to address gaps at linebacker and who will back-up Palmer?
But with the draft still ahead and plenty of free-agents looking for jobs, McKenzie has done enough so far to ease some of the anxiousness Raider fans had heading into the Spring."

But if you take a real legitimate look at this roster and new coaching staff and weight that against what the rest of the AFCW is doing to improve and that brutal schedule that we will face it's very apparent that crying "CHAMPIONSHIP" is absurd!!!

Brandon Underwood has had several run-ins with the law and is hoping to get a fresh start with the Raiders. You can't really call it a "second chance" considering that he has been implicated in crimes on four different occasions-three times since joining the NFL. This prompted the Packers to eventually release him and he was out of football all of last season.

Ron Bartell was also out of football in 2011 after he suffered a broken neck. Such an injury can be a scary thing and most times will end a players' football career. He didn't garner much of any interest around the league and was essentially a forgotten man. Until he cleared medical tests and the Raiders signed him. Then everyone was like; "Oh yeah, Ron Bartell. I remember him."

Shawntae Spencer went down in camp for the 49ers last season with a hamstring injury. While he was out, he lost his starting job to newly signed Carlos Rogers. He never got that job back and Rogers went on to a Pro Bowl season. The team re-signed Rogers long term and Spencer became expendable.

Pat Lee was a former second round pick by the Packers in 2008. He couldn't break into the top three corners and was placed on injured reserve for the final few games of his rookie season. He was then lost for the entire 2009 season with a knee injury.

Ha! Ha! "BashJack" Al's very last draft pick has it all over on you no matter how much you hate on him for kickin your ass in my challenge!!!

Terrelle Pryor: Raiders want me as QB

Pryor is about to begin his second season in the NFL, and he enters it as a quarterback. He dismissed rumors that the Raiders organization, which selected him Aug. 23 in the third round of the supplemental draft, asked him to switch positions.

"I haven't heard them," Pryor said about the rumors. "That's not even a question. I'm still working to become the best quarterback."

And YES he was ready to play:

He got on the field for one play, but the Raiders were penalized before the snap and Pryor returned to the sidelines. The game was Oct. 23 against Kansas City.

"I had a whole package for that game," Pryor said. "I was going to make a bunch of throws, but we ended up getting smashed and I was yanked. Who knows where it would have gone? I'm confident I would have been successful during that time. We were down, 21-0, and we didn't run any plays."

"The suspension put me way behind," Pryor said. "But the future is bright, and I'm living in the future."

"I'm getting a fresh start with the new staff coming in," Pryor said. "I'm going to learn the new system just like all the other quarterbacks. All I'm just looking for is a fair shot."

"The new staff told us that all positions are open, so you have to battle for the position you want," Pryor said. "There is going to be some good competition. Once you get the position, you have to keep fighting for it.

"Like Tom Brady said, he felt he had to work hard every day, like he was going to lose his job. That's what gives him that edge that he never wanted to be behind someone. That quote right there lifted me up and picked up my spirits. To hear him say that makes me work extra hard."

"I can go in and talk to the coaches, but it can't be about football," Pryor said. "I knew the coaches are eager to get started, and so am I.

"I've been working out with (Raiders teammates) Darren McFadden, Jacoby Ford and Taiwan Jones. I'm training hard, and I'm looking at film. It's good to be in there and have chemistry with my teammates. To see how hard they work, it pushed me to work even harder."

Panty, love your stats and all but maybe a little decaf is in order?

Personally, I'm just excited that everything is different apart from the uniforms(don't ever want to change that!)... we had no GM now we do and there won't be anymore irrational Hall type signings... Jackson was a pretty good OC, but as HC after Davis was gone, the job dwarfed him... we had no DC of worth now we have a HC whose a very good DC so I trust his DC pic... we had players with questionable motivation, now they're gone... CLEAN HOUSE!!!
Sad to lose the players who proved themselves but that's just biz, and we have a very good personnel and numbers guy sorting through the mess... and now the circus left town and our division is suddenly relevant (Manning v Tebow), which is good all round, the Broncos will be better but so will we!!

If Reggie signs a player, I am 100% certain he has done his due diligence in terms of ROI, medical history, skill evaluation, risks, etc.

Underwood, Bartell, Spencer, and Lee are 4 signings with legitimate questions that will need to be answered in due time.

There are risks and potential upsides for these 4 CBs. If there weren't risks associated with these players we wouldn't have been able to sign them to relatively low sums of money and short term contracts.

I also look at from the standpoint of Reggie putting together the best possible 80 man roster for camp to create the competition and depth required to compete.

Until the 53 man roster is finalized, I will patiently observe Reggie doing his job.

As far as Negative Nancy "pimping" Reggie but slamming him at every opportunity, it is a product of a fraudulent mind that lacks any credibility or integrity. Negative Nancy is happy living in the past and the new era upsets her. I get it.

Using trusted former Raiders like Madden as counsel to Trask, M. Davis, and Jackson would be prudent.

With Trask involved in the business and legal component of the team and Mark Davis being more or less a figure-head, Jackson would seem to be in a position where he would need to endorse and buy-in to any selection.

This is an unusual situation yet fitting for a team that is unconventional in many respects.

The younger prospect would have some advantage as far as longevity and perhaps free thinking and new ideas...But at a loss when it comes to experience -n- wisdom -n- just plain football knowledge and the ability to earn the respect of the other old men in the room...Owners...

Than there's the problem with knowing a young man's heart??...How do you with an outsider???...This is a time tested quality...As in the case of Parcels who threw time has proven to not be a finisher...Al Davis was a very principled man who held to what was very dear to him...No young man is in a position to exemplify that while his dick still runs his head!!!

Do we want to end up with another "JawBone" Hanson???...That could happen...

So I instead look to an old and tested insider or very close and respected friend with tremendous knowledge and experience and the other time tested qualities to be that man in the near future...I see that as a primary need and it's already been reported that some now see the Raiders as vulnerable and attackable...That older man is very much needed for a view of stability and strength!!!

Included with him may be another or a small group of others who would be in training for the position at a later date...I will certainly sign off on that because than we still have that young voice and new ideas without the risk of running the ship aground!!!..Hue is that now!!

But than I'm an old man so view things much differently than the younger mind that's so eager for change that they risk the safety of the ship...

I don't think Al Davis would have left a list of young that placed his organization at such risks???...Like the bringing in of Bresnahan who is older with proven tested loyalties...Not the Winston Moss that I was pimping with all his new tactics learned in "GB"...I see the wisdom in what Al Davis has done so far in leaving his organization in good hand and don' expect to see any swerving from that very wise course now...

Raiders move forward, look to fill GM spot

Oakland Raiders owner Al Davis had served as the team's G.M. from 1963 until his passing on Saturday. The Raiders will now look to hire a general manager, and the club has started the search to find such a person to work in concert with head coach Hue Jackson, according to league sources.

The Raiders' model would likely be set up somewhat like Pittsburgh's, in which coach Mike Tomlin and G.M. Kevin Colbert work in concert.

The Raiders also could hire a consultant, likely an experienced hand like Ernie Accorsi or Ron Wolf, to help them through the rest of this season. Wolf, best known for his success as G.M. of the Green Bay Packers in the '90s, worked for Davis' Raiders for 26 years.

The Oakland Raiders have formed a team of consultants to find a general manager for the organization now that managing general partner Al Davis has died. Among the consultants is former Packers general manager Ron Wolf, who along with others recommended Packers director of football operations Reggie McKenzie. It is not clear, however, if the Raiders have approached the Packers for permission to interview McKenzie.

If during today's interview process with X-Raider Reggie McKenzie the subject is discussed as to what would be the best approach for his homecoming than I really don't see much of an issue???

"SuckChuck" decision can be made as well as other assistant coaches such as "WR"s coach who hasn't been discussed....Than those processes can take place so the slate is already clean for the homecoming...

This than would mean that Reggie McKenzie has signed off on Hue and Hue has signed off on him...I would suspect??...

I'm just very excited for it to get done so we can move onto other very important issues...Such as who has been tagged as replacements which could also be discussed today???...

And don't forget it was the "GB" "GM" Ted Thompson who was recommending Reggie McKenzie shortly after Al's passing...So presumably the 2 teams are willing to work together...Which means other opportunities may be there for further discussions prior to the actual contract being signed with respect to potential candidates for "DC" and assistants...

Reggie McKenzie to interview with Raiders Wednesday
Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on January 4, 2012, 11:45 AM EST
R. McKenzie AP

There was a power vacuum in Oakland’s personnel department during the season following the death of owner Al Davis.

With the regular season over, Raiders ownership is moving quickly to fill a general manager position.

Sean Jensen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports that Packers director of football operations Reggie McKenzie will interview for the G.M. job on Wednesday.

This is a move that former Packers G.M. Ron Wolf has been pushing for a while. Florio delved deeply into the issue this morning in a post everyone should read. (If you are into this sort of thing. Which you should be if you made it this far.)

It’s a fascinating dynamic. Raiders coach Hue Jackson may not be entirely comfortable with the direction that this G.M. search is heading, especially if McKenzie brings along Wolf’s son Eliot Wolf.

Jackson wants to be involved with the G.M. search, but his role in the process remains unclear. (Like a lot of things in Oakland.)

Post-season hiring drama is nothing new with the Raiders. Hiring guys like McKenzie and Wolf, who come from the Packers organization, could help them avoid so much drama in the future.

Late third round is the earliest available for compensatory picks. Asomugha must have been responsible for that one. IMO, having three additional picks is huge.

Davis has had a decent track record of middle and late round picks over the last several years. Hopefully, Reggie will enjoy similar success, particularly this year when we need it most.

2:15 PM
Blogger nyraider said...

To follow up, pick #95, which the Raiders were awarded, was highest available comp pick.

For all the folks that have argued whether or not the Raiders made a splash in FA last year, think about this from Corkran:

"Given the Raiders lost cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha, guard Robert Gallery, linebacker Thomas Howard and tight end Zach Miller, that should be enough to offset the signings of tight end Kevin Boss and a few other free agents."

The fact that the Raiders scored THREE Compensatory draft picks, including the highest pick available (#95) means they experienced a tremendous NET LOSS in free agency.

2011 was the year of the FA ANTI-SPLASH.

End of sudden death? A look at proposed rule changes

1. Overtime rule expansion

Make it the same all season long...

2. Instant replay changes

A) eliminate referees going "under the hood" to view replays. It would all be decided upstairs.

B) make all turnovers automatically reviewed

3. Trade deadline

moving the trade deadline back from Week 6 to Week 8.

4. Roster exceptions

A) There is a proposal to add one injured reserve exception. Every team would essentially get to designate one player every season to bring back from IR. The player would have to be on the roster through the first weekend of the season, then sit out at least eight weeks total. They could return to practice in six weeks.

B) Another proposal will allow each team to pick one player per week that has a concussion to go on the inactive list and be replaced on the active roster.

5. Expanding offseason rosters

Teams will be allowed to have 90 players in the offseason and training camp instead of 80. But unsigned draft picks will now count on the total, which is a change from the past.

6. Too many men on the field adjustment

make it a deadball foul with no time coming off the clock.

Clarification from my man Reggie on the definition of "Out Of Whack"...

NOT what you thought it was!!!

"A little bit of both. When you talk about production versus a salary. In this business, once you get into the NFL, let's face it guys, contract and production all of that goes hand in hand. If something's not matching, kind of out of whack, you know, you're gonna have to be forced to make a decision. And that's what I was coming up to. It was not all just either or.

"If the production is not there but if the guy is making the minimum, you know, then so be it. You can use this guy as a backup because of the contract. But when the same doesn't work out contractually and production, you gotta be forced to evaluate. That's how you enter every season. We're all up against that. We gotta be evaluated. So that's where I made my decision. It wasn't ‘you're costing us too much money, you gotta go' no, if the guy was highly productive and we can make it work, we try to make it work financially but if not we're gonna have to make certain decision, some tough decisions. Which we did."

"What I don't want to do is allow this to get us in the end." Said McKenzie. "I always want to be in position where if we want to add a quality player who we feel like it works out financially, cap wise, I wanna be in position to make a move. That's always been my whole outlook. When we had to make certain cuts, we do it with a future plan that we had. So far it's working accordingly."

"Out Of Whack" is NOT just about $$$$...Nothing was done to cut Kelly/Seymour/Curry/Palmer/Huff and others who are making the big $$$$'s but moves were made to keep them while getting under the Cap as well....

Bottom line if players like Routt/Wimbeley/Boss and some others had been productive my man Reggie would have found a way to keep them on the rooster and it has nothing to do with what Al Davis did many yesterdays ago...It has to do with the "Now" and their last opportunity to produce!!!

St. McKenzie does deserve some criticisms for some of his decisions... but then I understand them too. My problem was who he chose as his OC... but I understand that too, because as a greenhorn, he had limited contacts with coaches.

I was also upset because he let my man Chaz go for 500k when we STILL need a possession slot receiver. I asked Cork about this, and he said it was simply time for both to part ways.

I can except that too.

Other than that, he is basically doing the best he can with the cards he has been dealt. He has to look out for the future, while also balancing a competitive team for this year. His boss might might be happy if the team starts off 0-4 and there are empty stadiums for the rest of the year.

We should be looking at these things in BALANCE... do you not agree?? I am confused by your animosity here lately...

Gary...

Just let the confusion go Bro it's all a huge farce!!!

Just as you questioned some moves so did I early on while wondering "Where's this going Reggie"???

Now that's a very natural reaction in my book when "Some" are pimping turning the tables upside down on what we have come to love -n- cherish!!!

I asked Reggie to show me something and he has but obviously NOT enough yet but none the less the forward steps are taking place...

The rest of it is rubbing those "IAAF"er noses in the reality that what they were pimping as total change has instead become relativity the same old same old as Reggie brings in "Newbie -n- Retread Coaches" and "JailBird-n-injured Players" much the same as Al Davis did...That which they Scorned they now Celibate all in the name of "It wasn't Al doing it"!!!

Look at the new "1st/2nd rd picks who failed to materialize" now on our roster added by Marc-n-Reggie!!!...Now tell me that doesn't have Al's name all over it!!!

Now also the "JailBird" "CB" from "GB"!!!

Palmer who was the "Reject" that couldn't get along with his former team...Now if that ain't Al's style than what the hell was???

A "HC" without much legitimate experience at a higher level...Only 1 yr @ "DC" and tell me that ain't in the shadow of Al Davis???

And a coaching staff of 1st time NFL'ers -n- 1st time primary assistance along with Retreads who were previously hired by Al himself!!!...Now no way that's NOT in the image of Al Davis!!!

Than lets look at the so called complete restructuring of the Front Office...Whoops!!!...That hasn't happened now has it...In fact what has been done is to follow some of the same positions that Al himself had with a few additions....NO MASS CLEANING!!!!

Than there's the issue of "Draft Pick" and as I recall our 1st rd pick and next year's #2 was dealt by Marc in mirror image of his father!!!

So you see Gary all I'm doing is rubbing their collective noses in what they were pimping and showing that "Imbalance" which is to say the "LIE"...Exposed!!!

I have also posted that I'm NOT the one crying over the past $$$$'s nor do I cry over it today!!!...I was down with all those trades and still am...I'm NOT crying over the lost draft picks either...But that's never copied forward when the "IAAF"ers are trying to save face!!!

I do however continue to question that coaching staff and the "ZBS" transition as well as the "D"s transition to a Hybrid or 3-4???...Will it work...How long will it take to all come together???...Can we now pimp ourselves as being on the cuff of Championship like we have been the past 2 seasons???...How/Who will we add to field a competitive roster or will we???

These are all very legitimately unanswered questions that are worth asking at this point in time!!!

PR said: “Now that's a very natural reaction in my book when "Some" are pimping turning the tables upside down on what we have come to love -n- cherish!!!”

NYR: You embrace losing; we will cherish doing things right and winning.

PR: I asked Reggie to show me something and he has but obviously NOT enough yet but none the less the forward steps are taking place...

NYR: The 10 steps backwards theory. What a joke!

PR: The rest of it is rubbing those "IAAF"er noses in the reality that what they were pimping as total change has instead become relativity the same old same old as Reggie brings in "Newbie -n- Retread Coaches" and "JailBird-n-injured Players" much the same as Al Davis did...That which they Scorned they now Celibate all in the name of "It wasn't Al doing it"!!!

NYR: Besides your backtracking excuses for bashing the “new” Raiders, your assessment that the new regime is like the old regime couldn’t be further from the truth. McKenzie is an in-your-face GM... and essentially leaves zero possibility of another Kiffin-gate or Cable-gate, during which the communication between GM and HC deteriorated to nonexistence.

Did you not notice the doors of Alameda suddenly opened when Mark and Reggie took over? It’s like a huge weight was lifted off the shoulders of the organization.

PR: Look at the new "1st/2nd rd picks who failed to materialize" now on our roster added by Marc-n-Reggie!!!...Now tell me that doesn't have Al's name all over it!!!

NYR: Huh? WTF are you babbling about here?

PR: Now also the "JailBird" "CB" from "GB"!!!

NYR: Jailbird? You have no clue. Based on your rages and belligerent here, I would guess that you have been guilty of both Brandon Underwood’s alleged infractions at one or more times in your life. He who lives in glass house....

You are officially on record as trashing Underwood. Please don’t call him “your boy” later.

Response Part II

PR: Palmer who was the "Reject" that couldn't get along with his former team...Now if that ain't Al's style than what the hell was???

NYR: Palmer was a reject? That’s rich! You hated Campbell, now you hate Palmer. It’s on record! No calling him “your boy” later.

PR: A "HC" without much legitimate experience at a higher level...Only 1 yr @ "DC" and tell me that ain't in the shadow of Al Davis???

NYR: No. This was your take on Allen: “Allen who to date has done exactly squat besides hiring a weak ass coaching staff of newbies -n- retreads.”

You see, bashing the Raiders has become your style.

PR: And a coaching staff of 1st time NFL'ers -n- 1st time primary assistance along with Retreads who were previously hired by Al himself!!!...Now no way that's NOT in the image of Al Davis!!!

NYR: So Wiz is a retread? Saunders was demoted, and so was Willie Brown. There is nothing Al Davis about it!

PR: Than lets look at the so called complete restructuring of the Front Office...Whoops!!!...That hasn't happened now has it...In fact what has been done is to follow some of the same positions that Al himself had with a few additions....NO MASS CLEANING!!!!

NYR: Herrera leaving (then accepting a lesser role) isn’t change? McKenzie’s timetable to redo the scouting dept starts right after the draft. The organizational cleaning is just beginning.

PR: Than there's the issue of "Draft Pick" and as I recall our 1st rd pick and next year's #2 was dealt by Marc in mirror image of his father!!!

NYR: Funny how you have been trashing this trade, now you seem to embrace it. Essentially, as long as it appears in AL’s image you will embrace it.... and it has nothing to do with performance or winning!

PR: So you see Gary all I'm doing is rubbing their collective noses in what they were pimping and showing that "Imbalance" which is to say the "LIE"...Exposed!!!

NYR: See, Gary, it ALL makes perfect sense now. PantyRaider is a fraud! It’s NEVER been about winning; it’s only about AL... and there are no boundaries when it comes to defending the faith.

Personally I don't understand the need to be the first to predict the fall of Hue, the death of AD, the release of Wimbley etc... Bazjoz,
I'm excited with the season coming up. Offensively, not much has changed, with the exception of losing Chaz's injury and Satele's inconsistency. Bush was a huge loss for us, only because we have to find someone to help McFadden carry the load. I'm hoping for Cedric Benson, or a RB like him that can bang the ball. I also think we are one good O-Lineman away, but there are some unproven players in that lineup that may swing it to our favor.

Defensively, we still need an OLB. We will see how the DB's play out, but we have definitely received an upgrade from Routt and Johnson inconsistency.

It's funny how the complaint is we are getting away from Al Davis style football. In all honesty, most teams play Al Davis style football of speed and power (Giants, Packers, Ravens, and even the Patriots). The true difference is where the speed and power are utilized. Al was big on speed at the CB/DB area on defense, and in the WR position offensively. The power came at the LB and RB positions, respectively.

Today, the focus on speed is at the OLB position (while still focused on the CB/DBs).

Offensively it is still at WR, but there is an uncanny focus of speed and power at the RB position.

Power is focused on the lines on both sides of the ball, and at MLB. That is how you stuff the run. That is why it is easier for teams to run on the outside; unless the line and MLB breaks into the backfield.

The Raiders are heading to match this philosophy, and I am eager to see it produced on the field; and put more "W"s in our column. Looking forward to the team hoisting the Lombardi again.

JUST WIN, BABY!

Nate....Mr.Davis football was not the same as the top teams in the league. Mr.Davis' Defense was one of basic design. Back in the day, when talent on teams was so unequal as compared to today, Raider Defenses could just overwhelm with talent in a basic (in todays standards) Defense. Today, with most teams so close in talent, coaching and design of Defense is what makes the difference. This is where the Raiders and Mr.Davis were behind the 8 ball. The basic structure of the Defense was the downfall of it. It's why year after year, didn't matter who the players were, it was the same problems. Unable to stop the run, giving up big plays, lack of turnovers etc.

Offensively, the coaching was never what it should have been because of the structure Mr.Davis had in place. The HC actually being the OC and usually low in quality and under the eye of Mr.Davis... That is all about to change, the Raiders are moving into today's format and the team will be on an equal playing level with the rest of the league. I'M IN...bring it Coach Allen!

Raiders | Reggie McKenzie happy with offseason

Mon, 26 Mar 2012 07:25:02 -0700

Despite having little room under the salary cap to operate, Oakland Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie said he has been happy with the moves the team has made this offseason. "A little bit better (than expected), because we were able to knock out a couple of areas we felt we wanted to upgrade, and fill in or solidify," McKenzie said. "We felt like the O-line as a group, we solidified big time by getting the two veterans back and the coaching staff would like to see Wiz (Stefen Wisniewski) move inside, see what he can do. They feel pretty good about that."

Well than it appears that the "ZBS" is well on it's way back and Wiz II will now play "C" in it...Reggie and the coaches seem happy with this unit so I'm eager to see what it can do while I continue to "Question" how long this transition takes and how effective it will be in the early half of this season???

As previously noted considering our very tough schedule and the vast improvements made by our competition in the AFCW a slow start that puts us behind will prolley be very difficult to overcome???...In other words being 4-n-4 at the half way point prolley means we miss the "PO"s again this season!!!!

God forbid if it's any worse than that!!!

Q: On whether the Raiders will play a 4-3 or 3-4:

Allen: No, we haven’t decided any of that yet. We’re still going through the process of acquiring talent, looking into who we’re going to have on the team next year. Once we get through the draft, we’ll have a better feel what we want to do there.

Well now that sounds rather logical and adaptive to what the final roster looks like...Imagine That!!!

WoW!!...Now This Is "Old School Raider"!!!

"I'm gonna use the draft to make sure we draft the best available player. And if it's at a position we're strong at, so be it. If we feel like this is the best guy... it's the difference between adding solid starters and difference makers. If I have a chance to add a difference maker, we're gonna get him."

As far as needs:

"There's some good linebackers. Is it deep? I wouldn't say that but there are some good linebackers in this draft."

"I've done this for quite some time. This is my show now so it's gonna be fun."

Yes my man!!...It's going to be fun!!!

Nice "Side Step" Allan and kinda classy too!!!

Q: With your former team in the news, and former boss (Sean Payton) and defensive coordinator (Gregg Williams), what light if any can you shed on this and what have been people talking about in terms of bounties and what’s going on with the Saints and the severe penalties they face?

Allen: I think first and foremost, I think we gotta undersand that our job as employees of the NFL is to protect the integrity of the game. I think commissioner Goodell made that clearly obvious when he addressed the whole group this morning. I think that’s been something that’s been critical. Player safety, obviously, is at the forefront of the NFL. In general, I feel badly for everybody that’s been involved with the whole situation. It’s kind of an unfortunate situation, but the commissioner has made it clear that those type of practices are not acceptable and I support his decisions and what he decided to do from a punishment standpoint.

Q: Physical play prevalent in all game plans, who do you address that with your team without crossing the line?

Allen: I think you have to always be forthright with your team and be kind of one step ahead of everything. I think you can play this game in a physical manner without the intent to injure and I think that’s really at the end of the day what the NFL is trying to accomplish.

PR: Funny how you've suddenly embraced the "new" Raiders. I guess it's because you've taken a new approach:

PR said: "Reggie is Marc's father's Clone."

That's funny! I see Reggie as the exact opposite of AL in so many ways.

AL's org had no structure. Reggie is all about structure.

AL's signed high-priced players, while Reggie looks for relative bargains.

AL was all about speed and athleticism, while Reggie has made it quite clear that football acumen comes first.

AL mostly hired his own coaching staff (and retained coaches he wanted), while Reggie gave that authority to his HC.

I could keep going all day! Your belief that AL and Reggie are parallel is laughable!

But, hey, keep up the good work.

Cheers!

Panty... you're not getting my point...

I'm all in with the new organization, and if they want to recycle a piece here or there, I don't care... I'm not driving this new ride and besides I think it's way too early to judge any moves. Reading both Reggie's interview and DA's today, I didn't get one negative vibe, just two competent enthusiastic guys going about rebuilding with an open mind, lots of film, very little cap room; and with a desire to put in place a solid workable structure... sounds good to me!

I ain't looking in that rear view mirror, it's all history now as is Al Davis' time... and that's not a put down of Raider history, but I want new victories new championships; the last decade hurt bad and for me this is the most hopeful I've been since Gruden took us on that ride...

Put it this way, I was pissed when we got Gannon, couldn't see past my loathing of KC at the time... shows you how much I knew, which is pretty much my point... Just a fan baby!

NYR...guess they call it "blinded by love" Nancy was in love...either that or Jethro is just a troll.

It's been a long time coming, NYR, we can finally see an Org that puts the team in a position to win, week in and week out. I used to feel bad for the players, the Org was so disjointed and dysfunctioned that by the time they ran onto the field, it was like they were already 7 points down.

Last 2 years, the players made 8-8 with the 'disjointed method'. Now when they run onto the field, they will no longer be at a disadvantage, other than the refs or maybe that will change too.

No longer hampered by an outdated defensive scheme, no longer hampered by playing players because they are favorites of the Owner. A cohesive unit, all on the same page, well coached and prepared...it's going to be fun to watch. I really haven't felt excitement like I am for this coming season, since Gruden. That's a long time ago. Yup, it is a new time and Reggie exudes confidence, Allen is well thought of around the league...I feel it and we can see it, why would any Raider fan be pissed? When you read the recent interviews of Allen and McKenzie, there is a respectful tone, positive vibe, humbleness, and sincere thought process that comes across.

Both men are straight-shooters who give thoughtful yet to the point responses.

Both men exude a command and confidence in their abilities to perform their tasks

Both men are genuinely grateful and enthusiastic about their current opportunity with the Raiders.

Both men make ZERO excuses and are completely accountable for the hand they were dealt upon signing.

If anything, both men seem to relish the chance to be true leaders, difference-makers, and to take on the challenges of a hyper-competitive league.

Lastly, both men are DEFINITELY on the same page with executing a well thought out plan but being FLEXIBLE to adjust the plan to reflect the dynamic nature of the business. I have no doubts whatsoever that Allen and McKenzie communicate on a daily basis and have already formed a wonderful working relationship and partnership.
