How Ironic

Is it just me, or is there some irony in the NFL going all out to promote the unveiling of the 2011 schedule tonight--when they can't even tell us if there's going to be a season or not?

That said, I'm excited to see how the Raiders' schedule stacks up, and who we'll be facing (ostensibly) in Week One. There are some tough opponents on tap, including the Packers, Patriots, Jets and Bears. Should be interesting!

How can you not love opening Monday Night Football against the donkeys? That said, I have done maybe 2 hours of draft research this year compared with non stop obsessing the previous years.

Glad to have the Monday Night spotlight, seems like we've had several of those in the past four or five years.

RT: An interesting schedule yet I find myself considerably less pumped up than usual. With the lockout, litigation, and uncertainty of the 2011 season, I feel disconnected to the usual ramp up and excitement of an upcoming season.

Roy: Partly because the Raiders don't pick until #48 and mostly because of the way this off season has transpired, I have done no more than 5 minutes of "research".

Normally, there are at least a couple dates (and locations) I would consider taking a road trip - Buffalo Week 2 being one possibility, but that seems moot right now.

If anything, I'm happy to see a few national TV games in the schedule. It would be nice watching a game or two this year in the comfort of my own home.

Alternately, I would have to switch cable providers to get the NFL Ticket, but there's zero chance that's a consideration at this point.

Wake up NFL!

Only 7 comments posted on two threads since April 12th. Hard to believe the draft starts tomorrow.

Yeah, sort of a "yawn" year so far with the lockout and no first round selection. Hard to get too excited about a season that might not happen.
