Raiders look very good. Cards look very bad.

This is more like it, dominating performance, from the coaching to the towel guy.

The team is playing a controlled and deliberate game, very good play calling and a swarming D.

If this keeps up, they will definitely contend for a playoff spot.

If the team continues to improve like it has this week from last week, this is what we have been waiting for? Have to see more against better teams to get a definitive reading on this team.

How do these blown lead Q4 meltdowns keep happening with the raiders year after year, different players, different coaches, and yet you know it's coming...

This f-ing team! My goodness. I could see it coming from a mile away. Allowing two 8-point touchdowns in the last eight minutes? Fumbling the game away when you're in the driver's seat in OT?

Pathetic, the team got fat heads at halftime, instead of going over adjustments, they were all laughing and having a good time. There are definitely concerns and it's already frustrating. I'm afraid that the momentum gained from last year, will be wiped away and the team could fall into turmoil. The team needed to hit the ground running, it doesn't look that way, could be another wasted season, the cycle needs to be broken and broken soon. It's absurd that the team can go from what they were in the 1st half, to what they were in the 2nd half. It truly is unbelievable.

20 years of this crap, how Raider Nation stays loyal is beyond me. They go up and down the field at will in the 1st half, then they can't even make a 1st down in the 2nd half. Inept coaching, hate to say it, but this is definitely a worry already, especially with this guy's history. Like you say, you can't lose like that or else the HC will lose the team. Not a good start with the new regime and we all feared it, but thought this new regime would have the team ready to go, doesn't seem to be the case. Fool me once, shame on, fool me twice, we won't be fooled again?

It didn't seem possible to lose that game. Two horrendous holding calls on the Raiders defensive backfield didn't help but that's no excuse.

Raiders defense played way too soft in the second half and Derek Carr seemed to crumble under the pressure of the game.

It should have never come down to OT. Everybody deserves blame for that game.

Carr
Renfrow
McDaniels
Graham
the refs!

The Raiders snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. Great first half, incredibly ugly loss.

Mark Davis's Las Vegas Aces won. He was smart to attend that game and not the Raiders.

Now, don't go putting down on the Raiders. You can't criticize the Pats' guys after just 2 games.

You need to look at your own attitudes the past 10 years:

Al was the problem and he ruined this team. He couldn't lead a team anymore, Didn't give his coaches chances to succeed and overpaid his vets and star FAs'.

Fans felt a new way/ culture, not something stuck in the past; a modern team with people from different/ 1 winning system- would fix problems and getting real football players and good coaches would make us winners again.

Al didn't make hires then let them just lead without giving advise or let them keep making the same mistakes. He never left them alone without finding good personnel for them.

* Instead of putting down on the new regime: make them answer questions:

1. Why didn't/ won't you spend money on star free agent players?

2. you seriously think you couldn't use some of Al's ideas(speed, athleticism)?

3. why did you let GB con you out of 2 high picks when Adams is 30+? Al got Moss for less than that.

4. Do you intend to sign or trade for help before the trade deadline?

* Hey, Raidernation why the attitudes? Why are you turning on your team. You claimed the Raiders needed a new culture, Reggie would build a winner and Gruden would take us 'back to glory'- you also claimed:

1. the Pats' guys will bring the 'Patriot way'.

2. We got the house, the money and now the guys to lead the Raiders(Pats' guys).

3. we will be in the SB picture.

4 we(may) have 2 of the best edge rushers in the NFL.

5. we(may) have 1 of the best receiving units in the NFL.

* Could it be that the system needs some help. Maybe the Raiders need some old changes like old Al and 80's ideas to get this team winning- You need:

SPEED

SIZE

ATHLETICISM

High paid star free agents

*Turmoil?: Why? the Raiders are wealthier than they've ever been thanks to the owners. They conned you into believing a new stadium helps a team win(?).

Anon- can't be fooled again?: They aren't fooling anybody! They're supporting the NFL. The NFL wants everybody(except Bucs, Steelers, Packers, Patriots) be in a PARITY system. They want cheap rosters, focus on profit and new stadiums. The Raiders are cheap and don't try to sign star players so maybe they aren't as powerful as they have been in the past. They(owners) want LV to succeed but could it be they don't like ownership?

* You know if I didn't know any better I would wonder if this isn't more about the future burning bright than winning now? Maybe your NFL/ owners want you to QUIT on Raiders and then suddenly- new owners, new fan base! The Pats' guys get re-hired by the new owners and maybe start winning!

* You ready to give up on the Raiders yet?:

Why? despite the hate, all the con jobs- Fans still support them. Fans wanted to win and felt Al was the problem. We haven't won yet but don't you understand that we are the toughest, most loyal fans EVER! The Raiders may be losers but they're also the most interesting, mysterious team in sports today- and all the haters want to see them owned by new owners and for us to quit on them...but we have something to stand up for and they don't understand why- and that's why we should stay fans:

Al's history.

the team moving 3 times(Oak. to L.A., L.A. to Oak. and Oak. to L.V.). But fans still supporting them.

* Anon- 20 years of this crap?: No, Anon, its' 19 years('03) and the Raiders did go to 2 playoff games('16 and '21).

*Be positive:

Carr might become a star QB.

Time, not complaining.

support the Pats' guys turning it around.

have fun not worry about our record.

give the players some positive talk.

remember the pandemic, forest fires, Ukraine and hungry people and talk about these thing too

This is on McDaniels more than anyone terrible play calling in the second half. Did not run the ball enough or at critical times. Two examples 1st down at the 39 yard line in OT and they throw three passes. Up 23-7 two minutes into the fourth and McDaniels cals three short passes all incomplete took 9 seconds off the clock. Biggest blown lead in Raiders history

Seemed like the Raiders came out with a great game plan that worked to perfection in the first half, then they didn't know what to do with themselves in the second half. In H2 the offense played "not to lose" and the defense went "prevent" with lots of 3-man fronts and soft coverage. Worse, they didn't adjust after it was obvious Murray was having his way underneath. And I still don't know who the Raiders QB spy was. Whoever it was, they failed miserably, as Murray ran for whatever he needed, from wherever he needed without being touched.

Everything that could go wrong in the 2nd half did go wrong, including refs making calls like they had a bet on the game.

That was a crushing loss.

You cannot coach "Not to Lose" and win the game. This is exactly what the Raiders did in the 2nd half. Pathetic. Unbelievable that Renfrow fumbled twice in a row, and the second cost us the game. Crazy...

Where is Gruden when you need him?

I disagree with you guys when you say they played not to lose. Maybe on defense re the three man or even two man (on 2 point conversion) that NY mentioned. However on offense they played agressivley in that they kept passing the ball instead of running it. You pass to build a lead and then you run to close it out. Jacobs got 6 carries in second half and none in overtime. He was rolling. Really bad coaching.

Gruden/Olson would have won this game because he to a fault is super conservative at times and would have run the ball non stop in the second half. The last series compare that to the Charges overtime at the end of last year. The Raiders got to about the 40 and gave it to Jacobs. Carlson had already kicked a 55 yarder, rund the ball twice get inside the 35 and we win.

Ya know, it was all the players, ya know, fault. Ya know, we just didn't feel like making adjustments, ya know, at halftime, ya know, because, ya know, the players all had to go pee, ya know. And, ya know, the players need to ya know, learn how to win, ya know.

This guy is not making friends in the dressing room, that is for sure, maybe leopards don't change their spots?

I agree Raiders should have run the ball as opposed to a 2- or 3-yard toss to Renfrow. McDaniels should have more confidence in Jacobs. Plus, Carlson is money from any distance. Renfrow fumbling 2x at the end is like lightning striking 2x in one spot. However, he was only using one hand to secure the ball and perhaps trying to do too much. Earlier in the game, Moreau caught a ball over the middle and immediately covered the ball with both hands while he continued to gain yards. That was one of the smartest catches and runs we saw all day. He also recovered Renfrow's first fumble.

PFF grades coming out on Raiders O-line. Really bad despite giving up only one sack. RT graded lowest. Parham was a fill-in at C, so it's unfair to view his grade too harshly.

Obviously, status quo for the O-line is not working. Elumenur and Munford still splitting time at RT says it all, i.e., neither is getting the job done. Raiders need a stopgap solution before things get worse.

With a 20 point lead at half, and you come out firing passes the way McDaniels called, yes, I didn't like it. It wasn't aggressive play calling because he was calling 2 or 3 yard passes, not 7 plus. There is a difference. Yes, he was coaching not-to-lose, rather than coaching to win.
He has to be smarter than that and call run plays. Jacobs has been the most overlooked guy on this roster since day one. Dude is a beast who can eat clock. You wanna win big, feed Jacobs. Set up the passing game with a strong running game, not a weak-@$$ passing game that dinks 2 or 3 yards. Jacobs can get you 4 yard per carry and then some. The way you help a struggle O-line is with the running game. The Raiders' in the 2nd half and overtime; their drives looked like this:
Punt, FG, Punt, Punt, Fumble. Their first 2 punts were 3 and outs. Their FG was 11 plays, 26 yards, and took 4:25 off the clock. Their 3rd punt was 7 plays for 14 yards and took 3:30 off the clock. Derek Carr went 4 for 11 for 42 yards in the 2nd half and Overtime. PATHETIC PLAY CALLING!
Parham did well at Center yesterday. Held his own the majority of the game, and he was really one of the brighter spots in that game yesterday. Chandler Jones is getting good pressure, much like Crosby, but has nothing to show for it; much like Crosby. I'm waiting for a D-line coach to teach them to go after the ball, not the sack. When does pressure mean nothing? When they try to get the sack only. Go after the ball, then the sack. Create turnovers, make the QB look over his shoulder, and tuck the ball first. That is how you get sacks. Raiders need to get a DT that will create pressure too. Disrupting a passing game is still a problem on the Raiders after 20 years. It is not overly complicated to fix these issues, yet, the Raiders can't seem to get out of their own way.
