Chiefs Gameday Thread

Boller or Palmer? We shall see. It's never boring around here, that's for sure. And now that the Jets are coming back against the Chargers, we find ourselves in a great position to possibly take the lead in the AFC West. GO RAIDERS!

hue shouldn't play games, should've started palmer. now we have to worry about him getting his timing down 21 points midway through the 3rd...

Thank God trading deadline has passed.

Now that Mcfadden is hurt, Hue probably would have traded entire 2013 draft for some 31 yr old running back.

Earth to Mark Davis & Amy Trask.

We need a real GM. The faster the better.

its over man.

hue costed us a win by f-ing around with boller.

the only consolation here is the chargers losing.

embarrassing. not only that, it's going into a bye week, and that can hurt us.
this is not the way we needed to come out today, not with this offense. no way we should be throwing the ball that many times! bush was making some good headway. i know mcfadden was out, but we still have taiwan jones.
deplorable, sloppy football. let's turn this around....

i have a question. hell, this game is lost so might as well have an interesting conversation...

what would it take to snag the 1st over-all pick in the next draft?

YES i know we're out of this draft but what would it take to get back in?

a darren mcfadden and more trade? why? we have bush (ufa but could be franchised), we have jones...

not saying that we should suck fr luck but let's face it... that kind of qb comes along once in a generation...

There's no question that Jackson was right to start Boller.

There's also no question that Boller was the reason that Jackson was so quick to get Palmer.

We're also down to our last to Corners, McFadden was only in for two plays, and both Ford and Moore are playing like crap today.

There's also no question that Campbell was the source of on the field leadership for this team.

Still, we're right in the thick of it, and we have two weeks to heal and work Palmer into the offense.

It's nice to see Murphy back.

Sheez! You folks in love with the last eight years and looking to revisit it. Have a little more faith. I don't think I've seen any team go through the things this team has gone through in the last three weeks, and we're 2-1 getting through it. The loss came with a combination of a back-up QB and one with only three days practice in a new system after being inactive for 9 months.

Can we see just a slight amount of faith here folks? Oh, hell... Let's fire Hue and get Davis to sell his team... Oh, wait a minute.

gotta admit though blanda, hue jackson is either too aggressive or takes one too many chances. he should've put some points on the board with a field goal instead of going for it with bush. 3 points was better than nothing. who knows, we could've had a better outcome.

Hue has way too much on his plate right now and remember he's a rookie "HC"...Shit cut the man some freakin slack!!!

None of the following is Hue's fault:

Way too many injuries...

The loss of the "MGP"...

All the preparations thrown on his lap...

Tons of yellow flags...

Players missing tackles and dropping that "Pig"...

Boller have a colossal collapse!!!

3 new deals in less than 2 weeks time and having to work them all into the lineup...

Hue has done everything he could to hold this team together and move forwards...

Carso Palmer will be ready in 2 weeks and we still be in this damn thing...NO time to push that panic button!!!

"SD".....4-n-2
Raiders..4-n-3
"KC".....3-n-3
Donkey Dead!!!

"KC"-vs-"SD" week #8...One falls during our Bye!!!

This Palmer trade will end up being a disaster.

First of all, when was Palmer ever, ever, considered to be a great QB ?

And now, at 31 yrs old, with major knee, and elbow surgery behind him.

To give up a 1st and 2nd round pick for him was just stupid.

Raiders should have offered a 6th rounder for Gradkowski. Tried to save season, and left it at that.

That's why we can't have Hue making these trades.

Hue is the HC. Concerned mostly with his next game. Not so much thinking about next year.

The idea that Raiders are going to win SB this year, with their defense, is almost laughable.

And now how do we improve the D with no draft picks ?

How do we find a young QB of the future with no draft picks ?

If M. Davis and Trask don't get a qualified GM fast, Hue will rip this team to bits, all in the name of winning next weeks game.

Mark my words. Raiders will have no choice but to resign Campbell in off season.

And they will have invested a 1st & 2nd rounder, in back up QB, Palmer.

This game was such a train wreck and buzz kill that the only thing to do is put it in your rear view mirror.

We need this bye week to get our house in order, get Palmer ready, and get key players healthy.

How this team responds on Nov. 6 vs. Denver will define the team and the team's leadership.

I had a bad feeling about this game. KC has been playing well. Plus, it's tough to lose your QB, RB and K and expect to win. It's the NFL. You need all your horses to win games.

Palmer will now have something to prove.

If McFadden can't go in two weeks, we need to see more of Jones. Bush can be a bit predictable and Jones is a tremendous change of pace.

Tough loss but it's not the end of the world. Hopefully, the offense will get straightened out.

What up with the "Doom-n-Gloom"???

NYR is right...NOT the end of the world...

likelihood is that "KC" knocks off "SD" this week and we find ourselves 2nd in a 3 way tie @ 4-n-3 with 9 games left to decide who tales the west as it should have been...

I knew Boller would not win it for us...Unfortunately I was right and the bastard played most the 2nd half...Evidently to my chagrin Pryor is just not ready yet so that was not a possibility???...Bur it would have been better than what we got and the reps wouldn't have been wasted on some washed up nobody who never should have made it to the NFL in the beginning!!!...

What's Boller's rate in this one...15 to match his wit!!!

Our "D" was up to it: 2 pick 6's were against our "O" NOT our "D"..

We gave up 28 pts....Could have been 35...Every time off the "TO"..."KC"s passing game was not very effective against our 3rd string secondary...15/30 161yds -w- 2 Int's...We held that #6 Rushing "O" this week to a 3.6yd ave while ours produced a 5.7yd ave...The overall production was the same as they rushed 12 times more than us but they had 7 tackles for a loss of 20yds...That's good run "D"...

Those who wish to cry and pimp their doom will do so....Cry away!!!..I'm NOT of that sort...

Simple fact as was proven:

Palmer was not ready...Hardly any connection yet with his "WR"s which will change before he takes the field again...But at least he can pull the trigger on time and get that damn "Pig" up the field...He came in down by 21 with the running game diminished so "KC" knew he was throwing...

The 1st Int was on him for not seeing that "DB"s coverage...The 2nd was off a tip so not on him...The 3rd was a miscommunication as the "WR" went a different way than the ball...Not bad considering only 3 days practice in 9 months of sitting out...Just imagine what he can do after 2 weeks preparation!!!

PantyRaider...We Be In It And The "SB" Is Still A Legitimate Target!!!/_

Boller finished with a 22.3 passer rating.

McFadden has foot injury and Middle linebacker Rolando McClain suffered a lower leg injury, safety Matt Giordano left the game with neck spasms and tight end Kevin Boss suffered a concussion.

If HJ had anything he should answer for it was his part, if any, in keeping Boller on the roster and not finding a better backup QB.
Palmer's performance was nothing more than could be expected under the circumstances but the team need him to improve fast.
Normally after a defeat like this I'd say a bye week is the last thing you want and you'd want to get back out there and erase the memory of it asap.
However given the number of injuries and the fact that CP needs as much time a possible to get fit, I think it's a blessing.
Lets hope CP gets fit and HJ can get things back in-line. This should be an aberration, not a normal performance from here on.

Well said...Palmer will be ready...

The world is trying to come down on Hue's shoulders about now to see if he will crumble...Won't happen to him nor this team despite that horrific roller coaster we have been on the past 3 weeks...But we came out of it 2-n-1 so that speaks pretty damn load about the heart of this team...Than the damn "Zebra"s didn't do us any favors either...

To go threw this at 3-n-0 would have been stupendous in anyone's book...

Well, not much to say. It was ugly. Stopped and deleted the recording half way through the 4th quarter.

I think Boller was looking over his shoulder. Forced too many throws when he should have checked down. Other than that he pretty much sucked. Then Palmer's timing was off. Way off. But, when it was there he had good zip on the ball.

With two weeks he should get better for the Denver Tebows.

One thing. DHB came to play this year. He only caught 5 of 11 targets, but several were thrown to Chefs or he needed to be 7 feet tall with a 40 inch vertical to catch it. He's still on pace for 60 catches and 1000 yards.

The defense played well in the first half, but you just can't overcome the perfect storm of six TO's, Campbell out, McFaddent hurt early, McClain gimpy, two of your top three CB's out.

In the previous two games when Satele went out, Wisniewski shifted to center and Barksdale moved in at guard. On both occasions our power running picked up. I believe when they evaluate the first 7 games they should consider making the move permanent.

On one of the Chefs' TD drives Aaron Curry was flaged for hitting the receiver with his helmet. He did not. He actuall landed next to the guy. What contact there was was minimal.

Bye week just in time. I expect some of the receivers to have private sessions with Palmer to work on his timing. According to the new CBA the players have to go away from the facility for five days I believe.

For everyone dissing Palmer right now, just take a deep breath and have two Oatmeal Stouts or a couple of Porters. The guy had three days practice after sitting nine months.

I didn't like the price we paid, but I'm not going to throw him under the bus yet.

I will say this though:

Note to Hue. I like your agression but, slow down on the trick plays. The rest of the league is watching. And, sometimes it's ok to kick a field goal when you are inside the five. Like I said, the rest of the league is watching.

It's a tough loss to swallow, but when you take away our three most important players on offense, we are bound to stumble.

Campbell
McFadden
Janokowski

Really, what did you expect?

Granted, six INTs is too much under any circumstances, but the Raiders had everything stacked against them and the Chiefs proved they were good enough to take advantage.

As I said before, now it's time for Palmer to Man-Up! The same team better not show up in two weeks. Period!

6:31 AM
Blogger H said...

NYRaider,

Agreed. Also, we were down to two CB's period and McClain was playing on only one good leg.

Bush was stopped at the goal line, but that was more the OL than him. He still had 99 on only 17 carries. Satele just isn't strong enough on the goal line. That's two weeks in a row we've been stopped on fourth down at the one.

He needs to change it up and put Barksdale in as a fullback, or something. A guy 245 trying to leap the pile? Probably would have worked better with Jacoby Ford.
