Raidertake,

lane kiffin was fired for ruining the reputation of the oakland raiders.

as we can see by the product on the field since, the raiders reputation has benn fully restored.

they are one of the two worst organizations in the Nfl.

al davis should feel proud.

Raider Take:

Under Kiffin, the Raiders averaged 19.5 points per game. Under Cable, the Raiders have averaged 7 points per game. (35 total points in 5 games)

In Cable's 5 games, the Raiders have scored 2 TDs total.

The 2008 Raiders offensive unit is slowly but surely creeping up on the epic ineptitude of the 2006 unit. For the season, the 2008 team is averaging 12.7 points per game. The 2006 team average 10.5.

In many ways, this game vs. Carolina brought back nightmare flashbacks to 2006 ... Walter at QB, the D playing good, but no real hope for victory due to the inability of the offensive unit to capitalize on short fields. The one thing that really stands out about the 2008 unit is the lack of dynamic plays being made on any regularity.

THE RAIDERS HAVE BECOME THE CLIPPERS OF THE NFL. THANKS AGAIN AL.

To put Calico Jack's observation into mathematical terms:

3, 10, 16, 0 and 6 points / past five games = 2006.

This isn't going to change any time soom.

People keep talking about how good a coach Gruden was, and I agree.

Still, the main difference between Gruden and (fill in name here) ____________ is that when Gruden was hired, Bruce Allen was essentially in the GM position.

Drafts were better (Chas Woodson was 1st that year) FA's signing were better: Gannon, Parella, Rod Woodson, Trace Armstrong. Even the trades worked out better - see Eric Allen.

Mostly high character guys (with the exception of Romo - he was a jerk, but he was a helluva of a player and for the year 2002 he was OUR jerk and played great).

I've watched every Raiders game I could since 1968. I've got every significant Raiders game since 1979 on Beta/VHS/DVD master tapes (not copies, originals). I'll match my Raiders chops against anybody elses. But, I stopped watching our games near the end of the 2005 season under Norv Turner. I watch each season's opening game in total optimism, see that we stink then go back to DVR'ng the game and watch only if we win.

I simply can't watch this bad act any more.

And I think Anon is overrating our Raiders v The Clippers. Seems to me that even the Clippers have made the playoffs since 2002.

I STILL ASK MYSELF, WHY ARE THE FANS STILL ATTENDING RAIDER HOME GAMES? UNBELIEVEABLE.

WHY WOULD ANYBODY GO FOR A FG, DOWN 17-6, ON 4TH AND 5, ON THE LAST PLAY OF THE GAME? WAS THAT FG GOING TO TIE OR WIN THE GAME? WHO IS CALLING THESE STUPID PLAYS? UNBELIEVEABLE.

TINFOIL, AL'S MADE THE RAIDERS INTO BIG TIME LOSERS. WORSE THAN CLIPPERS. MY MISTAKE!!!

this week's tailgate was the best ever. a new guy showed up with a rig that has 5 tv's showing 5 different games. and more than a few of us were saying we should give up our season tickets next year and just stay in the parking lot. 3 more hours for food and drinks, so why go inside and be disappointed? a few boycotted the game and stayed outside. sounds like a plan.

Its a bit unfair to compare post-Kiffin to pre-kiffin because it also coincidentally post-McFadden and pre-McFadden (or pretty close to it.)

I don't think anyone game-planned Fargas the same as they did McF... at least I wouldn't.

Not that I think Cable has any hope here, but just sayin...

With the exception of the long run, this was hands down the best defensive effort this year.

Now can we get rid of Walker please? The dropped long pass was the only one Walter had in anyone's hands. When was the last time any receiver made our QB's look good?

O-line and WR is our problem. That's the list.

What can I say....NO-Longer a "Beliver"...

Die-Hard as I am I can't continue to support a franchise that is doing what the Raiders are doing...

"NOTHING"....

I have NO place to go so I will just stop watching the freakin NFL...After some 40+ years of supporting the Raiders and bleeding "Siliver-n-Black" and posting the team on my skin as a TaToo I have simply run out of blood...

This site is home to me so I will continue to check-in...But as for the games I will look at the net after it's over and turn my head in shame as long as this is the product on the field...

Yes, I'm really heartened that, allegedly due to an injury to one player (McFadden), we've essentially taken a time machine back to 2006, except with the added insult of a defense that totally implodes every other game. Such is progress in Oakland these days.

I give the D credit for playing great today. Today was a deja vu of 2006 where the offense was so bad it just didn't matter how great the D played. Sad. Very sad.

Gary:

In regards to your comment "O-line and WR is our problem. That's the list."

I sure hope you aren't implying that our only problems are OLine and WR. I wish that was our only problems to fix.

Our problems run from top to bottom in the organization. From the 1st man on the roster to the 53rd man on the roster.

Name one positional group that you been satisfied with their overall performance in the first 9 games.

The only "group" I can come up with is the kicking game. I have been satisfied with SeaBass and Lechler. Every other position group, IMO, has been a MAJOR disappointment.

Don't laugh now but ...

Under Cable/Knapp and a "modern" offense, this offensive unit could very well end up being far worse than the Bed & Breafkast offense of 2006. The B&B offense is outscoring the Cable/Knapp offense by 3.5 points per game. How sad.

And please, let's not be so pathetic to blame the injury on McFadden for this impotency.

1 TD in 56 first half possessions is all you need to know about the 2008 Raiders offense.

From Pop Warner to the Pros, the basic goal of an offense is to get in the end zone.

Yup, we score a TD on less than 2% of our first half possessions.

To SCALR8R:

The FG isn't totally indefensible. If they make the kick, they are down 8.

Onside kick, recover, throw TD, make 2 pt conversion and tie.

At least there's some thought that we might win the game... no execution, but some thought.

Our QB performance is so incredibly bad tho, that we would be literally better off if we never once threw a pass. If all our QB did was spike the ball to stop the clock his rating would be higher...

Yea, losing the NFL league leader in yards per carry (with over 100 carries) has absolutely no impact on the offense, CJ.

Please.

Again, I am not pretending there are not problems up and down the lineup offensively, but SOME of the problems has to do with our top RB being in street clothes, and our TWO top FB's done for the year.

I am also saying that this can be FIXED. I watched the entire Tenn game yesterday, and you know what the difference between that team and ours is? The best o-line in the NFL. Kerry Collins stands there counting to 4-apple nearly every play.

Al needs to draft o-linemen with at least 4 of his top five picks. Nobodies job should be safe.

Storminator, I believe our R8RS haven't score a TD in the last 12 1/4s, how would they ALL of a sudden actually score one? Let alone, with 30 seconds left in the game.

I had already thought about what you said, but no way that would ever happen. FG, ONSIDE KICK, RECOVER, TD, 2 POINT CONVERSION, AND THEN TIE. We got to go with our favorite play. THE BOMB.
