Moss Goes Deep

In an earlier take, I summarized an interview with Randy Moss on Sirius NFL Radio and contrasted it with recent remarks by Jerry Porter and Tim Brown. The interview was conducted by Jerry Rice and Adam Schein. In it, Moss demonstrated his support for Coach Shell, acknowledged that the team was in disarray last year, and called on his teammates to get with the new program.

Now, in case you haven’t seen it, the interview has been largely transcribed on Fox Sports. Click here to check it out.

Here’s one quote by Moss that dovetails nicely with my preceding take that the Raiders are going to surprise people this year: “I think we can really see what the Oakland Raiders are going to do this season because I think, personally, that we're better and more mentally sound than last year.”

Bombs away, indeed.

Let me say this again, I love Randy Moss! I must say that the knocks against him were always BS, especially the fake moon. After Moss was traded every single player from the Vikings that I saw interviewed on NFL total access had nothing but praise for him. Everyone said he was a great teammate. I am really looking forward to him catching at least 10 tds and going for 1,200 yards, in our run oriented offense.

Moss has been the consummate professional ever since joining the Raiders.

Who would have guessed?

I think what Moss said is a reflection of how we feel here at Raider Take. We are full of hope as well, Randy, and we know Art Shell is old school and expects you to work hard. As well, like Randy said, he will bring the adjustments needed, and the guidance where there is none. If you want to know how I feel, go re-read Randy's interview!
Well done Moss-man! I have goosebumps, and excitement is building in me for this coming season!
