As intriguing as Jack del Rio would be for DC is, it appears he is the leading candidate for the Chefs HC position at the moment. Also rumors have Gruden winding up in Jacksonville and Jeff Fisher in Miami.

With openings in those places along with St. Louis and Tampa it's even money he winds up somewhere else. But, if he doesn't I'd like to see him for at least two years as DC.

How about Romo as LB coach. He did a lot of bitching and moaning about the Raider defense. Come on down and show us how it's done.

Well, based on rumor, Reggie McKenzie is the man. "Sources", say they are working our the details of the contract. How much authority within the organization, salary and such.

I would think since Mark Davis admits to not being a football man he would have significant authority.

Just for grins they should hire his brother Raleigh as a body double. We would have a GM who could truly multi-task and be in two places at once.

All kidding aside, I hope he can work the FA market well. With as few draft choices as we have we need talent from somewhere. Also hope his capology skills are good also. Got a few contracts to rework. I would start with Carson Palmer, he's the one who told Cincy he had 80 million in the bank and it wasn't about money.

There is some speculation he could start work right away. But, the Packers would have to agree. I'm not sure what he could contribute to the Packers playoff run at this stage. So, that shouldn't be a problem.

The Raiders already used their #17 pick in the 1st rd to select Carson Palmer a 2 time "PB"er but enjoyed his service for half the 2011 season as preparation for what will follow in his 1st full season as starter...This prep time has been extremely valuable and given the Raider Nation allot to look forward to and a firm foundation on which to place hope...

The fuss seems to be about (1) the vented frustration about a 2011 season that did NOT meet expectations and (2) the inevitable change with an organizational overhaul.

Hiring McKenzie as GM, Lil Wolf as Asst. GM, and Jack Del Rio as DC would be steps in the right direction.
